LAWRENCE

Parts of Andover and Methuen were incorporated as Lawrence April 17, 1847. On March 21, 1853, Lawrence was incorporated as a city. On April 4, 1854 a part of Methuen was annexed. On February 4, 1879, parts of Andover and North Andover were annexed.
The population of Lawrence in 1847 was 3,577, and in 1850, 8,282.
