The Massachusetts Vital Records Project was originally started under the USGenWeb Project whose goal is to make all public domain records freely available to everyone. John and Jodi are committed to this principle. The Project will always provide free access to everyone.
Since moving the project to its own domain and servers, the costs are covered by the administrators. It will remain so. You may help support the site by making a donation. This can be done, through PayPal, by clicking one of the following links:

There are other costs associated with the project. There are copying costs to get images of vital records. There is transportation to the libraries. At the price of gas, you all can understand this one. In some cases, the only available copies of the vital records of some towns are on microfilm. We hope to buy these films and transcribe the records. This is especially true for the four western counties of Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire. These are just some of the expenses that the administrators incur in order to put these records online.
Whether or not anyone ever makes a donation, this site will always be freely accessible to everyone.
If you have questions, please write us.
Thank you.
