ALFORD

The town of Alford, Berkshire County, was established as the District of Alford, February 16, 1773, from a part of Great Barrington and certain common lands.
August 23, 1775, the District of Alford was made a town by general act.
February 11, 1779, a part of Great Barrington was annexed to Alford.
February 6, 1790, the ounds between Alford and Egremont were established.
February 18, 1819, a part of Great Barrington was annexed to Alford.
March 17, 1847, a part of West Stockbridge was annexed to Alford.
